You, as a common citizen, entrepreneur or individual who just needs to accept changes, should not be tired of following the trends unless you want to be apart of the artists.
The air cargo industry is one of the changes that have affected the lives of people around the world, particularly consumers and suppliers.
Air freight is not a booming new business. In fact, it has been around since the early 80s and has been growing ever since. However, its effective use has only recently been realized, when airplanes, cargo planes and newer systems have been designed.
There are typically a series of service categories that meet each type of air freight forwarding need.
The Household Goods division is dominated by air freight forwarders such as North American Van Lines and Benkins. It primarily caters to shippers who want to move or deliver furniture and other household items to end consumers.
In addition to cargo shipments, the most used services of air freight forwarders are express shipments, which include deliveries of express bags and items in the same category. The biggest earners in this field are FedEx Express and DHL.
The parcel division, on the other hand, delivers packaged items to their recipients. These services are provided by air freight forwarders such as FedEx Ground and UPS. Depending on the level of service selected by the shipper and service availability, packages can be delivered more than 500 miles or more in approximately three days or more.
In addition to these services is cargo shipment. It is usually subgrouped into two: LTL and TL.
Top air freight forwarders in the LTL division include names like AAA Cooper, Southeastern and Old Dominion. While forwards like Schneider and JB Hunt dictate the play on the TL field.
Although shippers can contact these forwarders directly through their websites, it is generally recommended that these deals go through online brokers. These institutions have all the contacts and information necessary to keep shipments on time and in the best conditions.
